A lot of games these days have raised the bar when it comes to voice acting. More money gets spent on it because the quality of the voice acting is a big part of making you feel connected to the story.

One of the best companies to do this I think is Naughty Dog and their choices of actors for the Uncharted games. Nolan North in particular is good as Nathan Drake but the back up cast is great as well.
