Last night I went with Jasmine and her friends to THE NIGHT MARKET. What is THE NIGHT MARKET? It’s a market….at night. It just seems much more enigmatic when you say it in capitals.

Anyway it was an interesting experience. For some reason it seemed to be predominantly (as in completely) Asian people selling stuff but I don’t really know why. None of the stall people had any kind of banter and didn’t seem all that interested in selling stuff.

Apart from knockoff stuff and oodles and oodles of phone covers there was also a couple of rows of food stalls which is where things got interesting. Aside from the obvious bubble tea (I had a strawberry coconut which was delish) there was also BBQ squid, pizza pancakes, deep fried everything, egg puffs and of course dim sum.

The BBQ squid was in fact just tentacles that had been bbq’d and looked all slippery and…yup just threw up a little in my mouth. I tried to get a deep fried mars bar but they’d ran out so I got a snickers one but it wasn’t very good.

After wandering around all the stalls we headed home. It was a strange experience and it seems like it could be so much more if they sold more stuff than phone cases and…phone cases.
