The Divide

There is nothing worse than seeing a trailer for a movie that looks really good, seeing it’s out on DVD, finding out you can download it right now and then finding out it has a 28/100 score on Metacritic. I don’t care how good it looks, if it’s got a red square on Metacritic it isn’t going to be enjoyable.

Stop tricking me with your trailers Hollywood!

The Killing

A lot of people got really mad when Rosie’s killer wasn’t revealed at the end of the first season but I wasn’t. I loved the story and the characters and I felt like if they wrapped it up and started a new murder with season two it wouldn’t be the same. Now people are saying they’re dragging it out and again I don’t mind.

However if the killer isn’t one of the main characters then I will be pissed. There is nothing worse than a murder mystery story where the killer is introduced right at the end and you realised there was never a chance you could’ve worked it out yourself.

I predict it to be the crazy ass aunt. That chick be loco.

The funniest thing about living in Vancouver is seeing it on tv masquerading as other cities.

No debit, mo problems

Our debit machine at work is out of action so we have to keep turning people away because they don’t have cash but a fun fact: people go to use their card, young people leave but old people always seem to have a backup supply of cash. I’m guessing this is from their pre-card days so they always carry cash around. I just thought it was an interesting generation thing.

Also, a lot of women have one purse for cards and one for coins, what the hell is up with that?

Yay for Netflix

For some odd reason I had the desire to watch the Stargate SG-1 series from the beginning and couldn’t find a decent torrent to download. It’s not unexpected given the series is over a decade old but I was dismayed none the less. I turned on my Xbox and thought oh I’ll try Netflix and what do you know they have the entire series, every single episode, to stream straight to my Xbox. Quite delighted I have to say.

Moving Woes

The people downstairs are in the process of moving out and have been going in and out with stuff all day. Just now I heard the man say “Guys please be extra careful with that” so of course minutes later there was an almighty smash and then an epic “NOOOOOOOOOO”. I’m extremely curious to know what got smashed.

Bitch I’m fabulous.

Apologies to anyone who got multiple friend requests from me on Foursquare, I didn’t know I already had an account from way back at the beginning of 2011 and then couldn’t remember my password for it but then in a moment of inspiration it came to me and I salvaged it.

Words cannot describe how delighted I am that Fringe has been renewed for a fifth and final season. What’s great is that it’s known to be the last season so they’ll be able to wrap everything up nicely. It’ll be interesting to see what happens.

Mass Effect 3

I bought Mass Effect 3 the day it came out back at the beginning of March but when I played it I couldn’t get into it. I think I have this weird thing where when I buy a game (rather than rent it) I feel I shouldn’t complete it to quickly because it will somehow have been a waste of money. Don’t ask why my brain processes purchases of games this way but it does. I’ll blast through a rental in a couple days no bother but I feel like if I spent $60 on a game I should get a few months out of it? What’s just stupid is that it’s not that I’ll play it slowly, I’ll just wait a couple weeks/months and then blast through it. It makes no sense at all.

Anyway I’m thoroughly enjoying ME3 and I think I’m heading towards a conclusion now. What I find fun is seeing how my game variates from Tim’s. We both chose to save the Geth (cos we’re nice people) but in my game the Geth went on to destroy the Quarians while in Tim’s they did not. That’s obviously based on some earlier decision we both made differently but I think it’s brilliant that there is such variation in the game. I can go back and make different choices and have different things happen. You certainly can’t do that with a book.
